By Janine Giorgenti

New year. New chapter. New you.

Planning for your next black-tie event, company party, or wedding begins now. What impression do you want to make as you enter 2018?

Here’s a suggestion, go bold!

There’s no better way to make a bold splash at your first big event of the new year than a custom Giorgenti tuxedo. Now, by no means are we saying that suits are yesterday’s news, but this message is directed at our clients with a bolder taste in fashion.

Three looks that will help you own every room you walk into:

This has been a very hot look for quite a few years now, and is still just as strong as ever.

The Black Shawl collar dinner jacket displays an elegance and class that is unrivaled by even the most luxurious of garments that fashion has to offer!

A blue or gray jacket with a shawl collar lapel is a beautiful and classy look!

Wide Peak Lapel Jacket:

The wide peak lapels have come back this wear, harder than ever!

Adorn your wide peak lapel jacket with black satin, and wear yours with black dress pants and a beautiful white shirt for an unforgettable look!

The Formal Suit

Many people have a problem dressing for wedding events because they believe that they cannot wear a suit to said event.

This is wrong!

You can absolutely wear dressy suits to your event! This includes patterns like plaids or windowpanes! You just have to execute the outfit in a proper manner!

Hope this helps!

Groomsman

Weddings are a lot of pressure and moving parts. Trying to get a group of dudes together for fittings is like trying to heard cats into a corral. We can help you select the right suit or tuxedo for your groomsmen and take care of the fittings. Giorgenti has an extensive rental program with many styles of suits and tuxedos to choose from. We will help you choose the suit ensemble or tuxedo to coordinate with the rest of your wedding party.
We can also make custom shirts or cufflinks for memorable gifts for your groomsmen.

Cummerbunds

In the late 1920s the newly modified cummerbund burst upon the scene. The pleated formal sash could be perfectly matched to enhance the look of a black tuxedo or described as the de rigueur for waist coverings worn with the white dinner jacketor white tuxedo.By 1937, The New Etiquette was describing the cummerbund as the formalwear accessory that was a “popular and chic” waist covering for weddings and back tie events. A cummerbund is flattering as it covers the tummy, it is decorative and withinthe spirit of colorful gaiety.

Today, the cummerbund is considered cool and stylish among millennials, as it is a vintage throw-back to an earlier era, which makes it popular and nouveau (hence in their terms…lit and fire!).
